There is no difference. The confusion is a cultural one as Kiwis typically call them heat pumps, whereas other countries call them air conditioners. They are actually the same thing! You get the same climate control features in the summer and winter months no matter what you call them!
- Size of the space The first factor to consider is the size of the area which you need cooled or heated. The larger the space, the larger the capacity of the heat pump will need to be.
- Climate The climate of your local region is another key factor to consider. If you live in an area which is very hot then a heat pump with a higher capacity will be required to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures during the summer months.
- Energy efficiency This has become an increasing important factor to consider when choosing the right heat pump. High energy efficiency ratings means lower ]energy costs and reduced environmental impact which is good for everyone! A higher-capacity heat pump may have lower efficiency ratings, so it is important to balance capacity with efficiency.
- Brand Each of the major brands offers different technologies that directly affect all the considerations listed above. This should be combined with factors like the history of each company, heat pump reliability and quality, warranty periods and overall reputation.
Depending on the complexity of an electrical fault it might be tempting to tap into the Kiwi do it yourself mindset. However, we strongly recommend against tackling electrical repairs or maintenance jobs without consulting a qualified Electrician. At Renew Electrical our team of experienced and highly qualified Electricians have undergone years of training and certification processes that will ensure your electrical problem is handled professionally while keeping you safe.
Generally it is accepted that LED lights are better than incandescent bulbs for the following reasons. Firstly, LED lights are significantly more energy-efficient, as depending on the incandescent bulb you are comparing them against, they use up to 90% less energy while maintaining the same amount of light. Another reason is they last significantly longer, which saves you the time and hassle replacing them. It should also be noted that LED lights are considered more environmentally friendly.
